Frequently Asked Questions

We recommend this particular kit for customers that want a Rear Vision camera on the rear of a caravan, horse float, camper trailer or slide on camper.

The EV05DC Reversing camera kit comes with a dash mounting bracket. There is no drilling required to mount the monitor, it simply adheres with 3m double sided tape. We also sell an optional suction bracket if you prefer to stick it to your windscreen.

The EV70DC reversing camera system has 3 camera inputs.

This kit comes with the following cables:

  • A 2-meter power cable that powers the entire system and runs underneath the dashboard.
  • Two 7-meter extension cables that run through the car.
  • A 2-meter car-side DUAL WOZA cable that connects to the 7-meter extension cables. It has a chrome socket on the other end, which can be mounted on the back of the car.
  • A 2.5-meter curly coil cable (5PIN) that sits between the car and caravan, facilitating the connection between the two.
  • A 10-meter caravan DUAL WOZA cable with a chrome socket on one end that mounts on the A-frame. This cable runs all the way to the end of the caravan and splits into two leads, allowing your dual camera to be plugged in.

The EV05DC comes standard with a Dual Camera (available in black or white)

The dual camera has aĀ 120 degreeĀ wide angle lens which is perfect for reversing. The other lens isĀ 45 degreesĀ which is great for long distance viewing

The camera will normally get mounted high, either on the back of the caravan or on top with the lens adjusted to suit.

Yes, the EV05DC has one extra input available to add an extra camera.

No the monitor does not split screen but can be toggled through the different camera feeds with a press of a button.

A WOZA kit is also known as a Suzi coil kit. The dual WOZA kit functions like an extension cable but is divided into three pieces to allow for installation in both a car and trailer.

The dual WOZA kit enables you to install two cameras on your caravan or trailer while only needing one curly cord between the car and caravan.

We advise against using regular extension cables to connect the car and caravan as they are not waterproof and not meant for frequent disconnection.

We will normally fit this monitor in the centre of the dash pointing towards the driver.

Yes this is an option if you require. Just make sure your installer connects the power wires up to an accessories power source.

Opting for a single camera on the back of your caravan is definitely an option. However, it’s worth noting that a single lens camera provides a wide angle view, which can result in distorted depth perception.

For rear vision purposes, a dual camera system is recommended, as a narrow angle lens is necessary to view long distances and judge the distance between your vehicle and others behind you.

While the 45 degree angle lens is not ideal for reversing due to the lack of wide angle, it provides a more accurate perception of depth, which can be helpful while driving. For example, if a car appears to be far away on the monitor due to the wide angle lens, it may actually be much closer than it appears. However, with the 45 degree angle lens, the distance perception should be more accurate.

If you prefer a cheaper option and choose to go with a single camera lens, that’s perfectly fine. Just be aware that it may take some time to adjust to accurately judging the distance of vehicles behind you on the monitor.

The 7″ LCD is polarised and has a sunshade built into the screen to limit the amount of glare that will obstruct the visibility of the screen. In saying this, there will be different times of the day that might affect the visibility of the screen that cannot be avoided. However, there are some visual settings such as, brightness, colour and contrast that can be adjusted to suit different lighting conditions.

The system will suit 12/24 Volt

Yes we have extension cables available but just remember you will need to purchase 2 extension cables for the dual camera.

Yes certainly, most caravan manufacturers are more than happy to comply with your request. Some might charge a small fee to run the cabling and mount the camera but it is definitely worth it to get this part installed while your caravan is being built.

Although the system is not overly complicated, we would advise against attempting to install it into your caravan / trailer without professional assistance. However, the decision is ultimately up to you.

The installation process involves running the cables, disassembling your dash/trim, and finding a power source. If you feel confident in your abilities to perform these tasks, then you could potentially install the system yourself. However, if you’re uncertain, we recommend seeking assistance from a professional installer. We have a list of dealers available for your reference.

Yes we do provide installation at our workshop in Seven Hills. We charge $120 an hour for installation.
