Utilise Your Safety Dave Caravan Camera with Your Factory Screen
If you want to integrate your existing Safety Dave caravan camera with your factory screen, we’ve got you covered! This kit includes the integration module as standard, but you may need additional items depending on what’s already installed on your caravan.
Step 1: Check Your Camera Type
- AHD or CVBS Format?
- AHD Camera (January 2023 or later): You’ll need an AHD to CVBS converter ($120).
- CVBS Camera (Before January 2023): No converter is needed.
Step 2: Do You Already Have a Car Kit?
- If you already have a Safety Dave monitor or car kit, you only need the Male Safety Dave to Polaris Adaptor ($15) to connect to our integration module.
Step 3: Check Your Drawbar Plug
Look at the plug on your caravan’s drawbar to determine what else you need:
- Chrome 5-Pin Socket: (See Figure A):
- Purchase the following items from Safety Dave:
- Add the Male Safety Dave to Polaris Adaptor ($15) to connect everything to our module.
- 4-Pin Aviation Plug (See Figure B):
You have two options:- Option 1: Use a standard setup:
- Add a 7-metre extension cable ($20) and the Male Safety Dave to Polaris Adaptor ($15).
- Option 2: Use a WOZA kit for a curly cord setup:
- Add the WOZA Kit with Safety Dave Adaptor ($145) and a 7-metre extension cable ($15).
- Option 1: Use a standard setup:
Vehicles known to work with this product:
- 2020 and onwards Mazda BT50
Important:
- Please note that the updated screens in the Dmax, BT50 & MU-X (2020 and onwards) often results in broken or lost panel clips, no matter how careful you are! We advise to have spare clips on hand when pulling the dash panel out.
