- It is plug and play?
Yes, no dismantling of the factory head unit is required which makes installing a breeze. It will come with a plug and play harness that will plug straight into all your existing wiring and head unit.

- What are the camera options?
- Can i view the caravan camera while i am driving?
Yes, this kit allows you to view the caravan camera by holding down one of the controls on your steering wheel while driving forward.
- Will my factory reverse camera still work?
Yes, Your Ford reverse camera will still work when you engage reverse
- Can i add a second camera?
Whilst this specific kit only comes with one camera for your caravan, the module itself has an extra front camera input. Great for monitoring the terrain when 4WDing or just to give you that extra bit of confidence when parking.
- What is a WOZA Kit and why do i need it?
This kit will come standard with a WOZA kit so that you have enough cabling to get from the car to the caravan. It also allows for a more professional setup by having a curly cord running between your car and caravan.
A WOZA kit is just another name for a Suzi coil kit. Think of the WOZA kit as an extension cable but it is broken up into 3 pieces so it can be installed into a car and trailer.
We do not recommend normal extension cables to run from the car to the caravan as these cables are neither waterproof nor are they designed to be continuously unplugged.

- I have a Single Safety Dave camera on my caravan, can i use this camera instead of buying the whole kit?
Yes, you can just purchase the module on it own here.
You will need some extra parts and this depends on what you already have:
- If you have been given the car section of the Safety Dave kit from the caravan manufacturer then you can use the extension cable from the kit and run it through the tow vehicle. You will need a SD2PMale adaptor in order to convert the Safety Dave plug into a Polaris plug in order to plug into our module. – PLEASE NOTE THIS IS NOT A CURLY CORD SETUP.
- If you have not been given any sort of kit and have just acquired a caravan with a Safety Dave camera, then we recommend purchasing the Sync3 module, a 7 metre extension cable and a WOZA4SD kit. This will turn your small 4 pin plug on the A frame into a chrome socket. This allows you to plug in our curly cord (that comes in the WOZA4SD kit) to run in between car and caravan.
- If you have a safety Dave Dual camera on your caravan, then please call us on 1300 555 514 so we can cater a system for you.

- I have another brand of camera on my caravan, can i still integrate this camera?
In most cases, yes.
Please see below the different brand of cameras that we know will work:
- Sphere: Similar to Safety Dave cameras, most of the parts recommended in the above FAQ apply to your sphere camera
- Axis: Yes but needs a special adaptor made up
- Dometic/Waeco: Yes but needs a special adaptor made up
- No brand: email us the picture of your camera and the plug on the A frame and we should be able to tell if it can be integrated. Our email address is sales@polarisgps.com.au

The module itself is very easy to install and comes with full instructions. We recommend an Auto Electrician or your caravan manufacturer to install the caravan parts.

Just send us an email at sales@polarisgps.com.au with a picture of your caravan camera and a picture of the plug on your A frame and we can help you with all the other parts that you will need to marry up to your existing van camera.

Which Toyota models does the module suit?
- Toyota Landcruiser GXL with factory screen (caravan camera can be viewed in reverse & driving forward)
- Toyota Prado GXL with factory screen(caravan camera can be viewed in reverse & driving forward)
- Toyota Landcruiser VX / Sahara with factory screen (Caravan Camera can only be viewed in Reverse)
- Toyota Prado VX/Sahara with factory screen (Caravan Camera can only be viewed in Reverse)
- Toyota Prado 150 series 2009 and up with factory screen (Caravan Camera can only be viewed in Reverse)
So how exactly will this module work with my Toyota screen?
You will receive a dash panel switch that can be fitted nice and neatly into the dash:
For the Toyota Landcruiser GXL & Toyota Prado GXL models, simply push the caravan camera switch in any time you like and you can view the caravan camera on the factory head unit.
For the Toyota Landcruiser / Prado VX, Sahara and 150 models, the caravan camera can only be viewed while in reverse. When you are towing the caravan, make sure the switch is pushed in when you pop the car in reverse and your caravan camera will show up on the factory screen.
What other parts do i need in order to marry up to my existing caravan camera?
This one is a tricky one as all caravan manufacturers use different cameras, however we are generally familiar with all the different types of plugs. The quickest way to find out what other parts you need is to take a picture of your caravan camera and the plug on your A frame and send it through to sales@polarisgps.com.au and one of our experienced staff members will get back to you with the parts required in addition to this module.
What does it mean when you say my camera has to be NTSC format?
Reverse Cameras usually come in a particular format. This format normally ranges between PAL & NTSC. Unfortunately the Toyota head unit only accepts cameras that are NTSC format. So it is best to double check with your caravan manufacturer as to whether your camera format is NTSC or PAL. If they aren’t sure, ask them who the supplier is and you can most likely ask the supplier directly.
If you have acquired a caravan that has a Polaris camera on it, see if you can find out approx. when the camera was installed. Unfortunately up until about 2-3 years ago, all of our caravan cameras were PAL format. We now supply all of our caravan cameras in NTSC format so you will have to purchase a new camera.
Why do i need an Auto Electrician / Polaris to fit this module?
The main reason is because you are tapping into the factory head unit and the factory reverse camera and it is recommended that an experienced auto electrician should be fitting a module like this. Should something happen to your factory head unit while trying to install, Polaris will not cover any costs incurred from damaging the head unit due to improper installation.
Best to leave it to qualified Auto Electrician or Polaris to fit this particular kit for you.
